In this paper by Patricia Groß you will be led into sleep research by showcasing how a hypothesis would be tested and an experiment conducted. Along the lines of the classic form of an academic paper, you will be given an introduction to the topic, previous studies and the research question at first. Subsequently, the experimental design and the measurements are presented to you, followed by a short analysis. Note that this paper is only mimicking an experimental study! It was written in a seminar and as a literature review, aiming to familiarize students with the design of their own experimental study.
Spoiler Alert:
Surprisingly, there is little information on the exact mechanisms underlying the connection of sleep and well-being, and even more so when it comes to specific notions of well-being such as hedonic or eudaimonic.
